Abstract

The use of computers against the fulfillment of information needs result in more efficient and effective work. The development of science and technology information is also very rapidly as the incessant fulfillment of information needs. The world of information technology has become a trend in everyday life. Almost everyone in the world uses help equipment especially in the use of information technology in its activities. Information presented through printed media or electronic media in the form of writing, sound or pictures. One of the development of information technology is web-based software. Web or website is a medium of information spread in the virtual world (internet). By using the web, we can find information in it. Method of research data used in this research is SelfReport Data. The data used are Primary Data and Secondary Data. Sample determination that used in this research use Purposive Sampling method. The approach used is qualitative research. The final result of this research is a prototype design of academic information system of web-based college. By implementing the application of academic information system is expected to improve the academic service effective and efficient for students, and as an alternative model of academic information systems in support of increasing universities in the field of information technology.
